Sutures Introduction
In 2001, the Research and Development Department Nakh Jarahan Teb Sina Company started collecting information with the aim of selecting the best foreign manufacturer to meet the needs of surgeons in surgical sutures. Finally, with the evaluation of samples of more than one hundred global manufacturers in 2004, the company started its activities with the Smi brand from powerful Belgium manufacturer. Nakh Jarahan Teb Sina Company started its activities in 2011 based on full observance of consumer rights and relying on the satisfaction and extensive support of the Iran’s surgeons. In 2018, with the serious problems created as a result of sanctions in the field of supply of surgical sutures in Iran, it has established a factory for the production of specialized surgical sutures with the participation of Smi in Tehran province.
Suture and Accessories
Absorbable surgical sutures are broken down by the body after the implant and providing the necessary strength to the tissue. This is the most important advantage of this type of suture. Absorbable sutures are used in general surgery, eye surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, neurology, orthopedics and heart (except for the tissue of the heart itself)
Other products related to surgery include blood astringents such as bone wax, Gelfoam in various sizes, and Sergicel. Also, Shirodkar surgical thread (cervix set, cerclage), skin stapler, propylene surgical mesh, sterile double-headed marker are among other items of surgical product
Absorbable Sutures

Non-Absorbable Sutures
Non-absorbable surgical sutures are sutures that are not broken down and absorbed by the body after the implant. This feature is used for long-term and permanent tissue strength and maintenance, especially in some abdominal anastomoses, eye surgeries, orthopedics, cardiovascular, etc.
